Sevu Reece penned an emotional farewell as he left New Zealand for France to finalise his move to USAP for the coming season. Since he was a boy, Sevu moved to New Zealand and found a life, not only as a human being but also as a professional rugby player.
Now that he is leaving the country to seek a new challenge, Seve opened his heart, expressing what New Zealand means to him.
SEVU REECE’S FAREWELL LETTER
“Just a kid from Fiji who took the opportunity to come over to NZ for school…… Little did I know……but only God knew all along that this country was gonna be my home 🏠 . Met my beautiful wife here in Christchurch and became parents to our two gorgeous girls ❤️and our dog as well 😅. Words can’t even describe how grateful and blessed I am for what this special country has given me. The friendships, relationships and memories that I’ve made over the years are something that I will cherish forever 🙏🏾. Friends that have become family! It has been a heck of a journey here in NZ. Thank you so much to all my people for standing by me through the highs and lows and supporting me over the years ❤️” Sevu started talking about his personal life in the country.
PROFESSIONAL RUGBY PLAYER
“And to my very special home club, @crusadersrugbyteam, thank you so much for everything you have done for my family and me over the years. Getting to play one game was special, but getting to do it 100 times was just something unexplainable. We’ve created something astronomically special at the club. Running out every week in front of our people and our region was simply the best job ever. And yeah, thank you for a few Championships as well 👀😅😘 aaiiinngg. Christchurch, you will always be home to my family and me, so this is not a goodbye but a see you later on.” He continued showing his love for the Crusaders, a fan and a legend.
“That same Fijian kid was very blessed to have been able to play for the @allblacks and man what a moment that was 🤯🥺. Getting to represent a rugby-mad nation was just out of this world, crazy, and a dream come true moment! All the friendships, memories and mates I now have for life. I will forever be grateful for that opportunity, so thank you heaps @allblacks. Massive thank you @waikatorugby, @Tasmanmakos, and @southlandstags for letting me be a part of your team and getting to meet the amazing communities and fans you all have,” he continued, proud of representing the All Blacks and other provincial teams.
“And lastly, to my beautiful wife, Kiri, thank you for everything you have done and continue to do for our little family and me ❤️. Super excited for this next chapter in the South of France 🇫🇷 with my crew 🥰. @usapofficiel see you at work 🤝🏾. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”
Proverbs 3:5
~ God’s Plan,” he finished, thanking his wife, Kiri, and God with a bible verse.
