Cheslin and Layla Kolbe have officially left their home in Japan and are heading back to South Africa after 9 years abroad. It’s been a rollercoaster of a career abroad for Cheslin, and his family has taken it in their stride. They supported him all the way, with Layla being the pillar behind all his success. Now that the Springbok speedster is coming back to South Africa, Layla is more than happy.
However, the couple had grown so attached to the country that their hearts also melted at the thought of staying in Japan. It was such a wonderful stay that, as they left, they still cherished the memories they had in Japan.

On Instagram, Layla expressed her joy at being united with her family, including her husband, Cheslin Kolbe, and their kids.
She also shared some of their last pictures from Japan, packing their belongings and leaving the airport.
“9 years abroad., 3 years in 2 countries- living 24hours apart- solo parenting. Countless memories,” she said.
“This move comes with sacrifice, but some sacrifices are worth making. Time is the one thing we can never get back, and we’ve chosen to invest it where it matters most. Leaving Japan is breaking our hearts a little. We loved this chapter more than words can say,” she continued.
“But sometimes life calls you home, and we’re choosing to be closer to family and the moments that matter most. Japan, thank you for everything. Not goodbye. See you again one day. ❤️🇯🇵🇿🇦” she finished.
