The Gallagher Chiefs confirmed the departure of the top wing, Liam Coombes-Fablin, as he moves from New Zealand to France. The talented star would be joining Pro D2 club Oyonnax in France on a two-year deal.
“@liamcoombesf has confirmed his departure to France at the end of this season. We will celebrate Coombsy and his contribution to the jersey, but for now, we have a job to do 🔥😤” Chiefs said, announcing the news.
LIAM COOMBES-FABLIN’S JOURNEY WITH THE CHIEFS
The talented wing joined the Chiefs in 2023 but failed to cement his position in the team. However, he enjoyed a positive season in 2026, playing in over 10 games for the Chiefs. He got the chance to showcase his top talent and received significant interest from several clubs.
With such development, Liam’s agent saw his development and top attributes in recent seasons.
“Liam is a small player but very fast and very versatile because he can evolve both on the wing and at the back, with very good footwork. At the Chiefs, he is known for his values on and off the field,” he said.
