WHAT MICHAELA BLYDE SAID ABOUT PAIN, EMOTIONS AND MOTHERHOOD AFTER BIRTH

On Instagram, Michaela Blyde opened her heart, sharing what she had encountered. She felt she could tell this to someone who is to be a mother in the future.

“Prepare for everything and anything. Your ideal birth story may not go to plan, but don’t panic, you’ll live. Contractions hurt like f, don’t try to tough it out if you don’t want to. Hold onto your husband’s hand and embrace the challenge. The moment you meet your son will be the most proud moment of your life, more special than any medal you have ever won. It’s overwhelming, but the best feeling ever. Remember it,” she said.

“Lean on your support and accept the help, you don’t have to be super mama straight away. Put yourself first, rest, recover, sleep, eat, drink, and rest some more. You won’t have control over house stuff; your support will help you with the washing and cook you dinner. Again, accept it. Be patient with your body. Yes, it looks different; it just carried a huge big boy for 9 months. Your strength will come back. You’re a hawt mama,” she continued.

“You will cry A LOT, over stupid 💩, your emotions will defeat you, you will stress. Duh, you just gave birth, and your hormones are on the piss, ride the wave, take time out in the wardrobe, be honest about how you feel, don’t act tough. Breastfeeding a newborn is a whole other journey. For a little while, you will feel like a feeding machine for a baby who isn’t smiling at you yet; it’s hard. The connection to your baby will come and go; this is normal. Don’t feel guilty. What an honour it is for your body to nourish your son. Fonterra is doing her job, the smiles will come soon!!” she continued, pouring her heart.

“Most of all, hold onto your son and give him more hugs and kisses. These last 4 weeks have tested you, but your love for your baby overrides any lack of sleep or emotional breakdown. Stay present in these moments and count your blessings 🩵. Enough of the feels…my son is hungry 😅🤪” she finished, leaving fans with a lot to say.
