Leicester Tigers players and staff went wild celebrating their victory over Northampton Saints on Saturday, 9 May.
It was a tough and top derby for the top sides, and they both gave it all. Recently, Northampton Saints had been in fine form, and their fans believed they would win the derby.
Unfortunately, Leicester Tigers had other plans, pulling off a game to remember. Their defence looked solid, and their attack could not be stopped. They went on to beat Northampton Saints 41-17 at Mattioli Woods Welford Road Stadium.
LEICESTER TIGERS’ WILD DRESSING ROOM CELEBRATION AFTER NORTHAMPTON SAINTS VICTORY
Soon after celebrating with fans on the pitch, the players and staff went back to the dressing room, a place where they are most comfortable. Without the public or executive media, they sang and danced while beating on tables as if they were drums.
Some of them could be seen drinking some beer and drinks while shouting. Indeed, their celebrations explain the importance of the derby and historic clash between Northampton Saints and Leicester Tigers.
On their Instagram page, Leicester Tigers shared their joy after beating the Saints.
“Name something better than a HOME Derby Day win. We’ll wait… 🥳🤩” they said.

After Leicester Tigers shared their dressing room celebrations after their win against Northampton Saints, fans loved the vibes.
@blond_hyena “I truly mean this…demolishing Saints at Welford Road is second only to beating them at Twickenham. Anything else is a bonus. 👏👏👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥🔥🐯🐯🐯🐯”
@James Sturdy “Amazing defence today and great to see Mitchell and Smith so overwhelmed.”
@Kate Goss “The best game I have watched for a long time. Smashed it, boys 🔥”
@Sarah Lou “What a game! What a win! Atmosphere was amazing 🙌”
Indeed, the pressure mounts on the PREM log leaders, Northampton Saints.
NOT A GOOD DAY IN THE OFFICE FOR THE LOG LEADERS
Northampton Saints have had a perfect season so far, before losing their second defeat of the season. Such a defeat puts them under pressure, with Leicester only five points behind them. More importantly, Bath will be a point behind the Saints if they collect all the points against Exeter.
Surely, Phil Dowson missed a few pieces by leaving out Henry Pollock’s backfiring. While on the bench for most of the game, Henry Pollock looked off place when he came in around the 52nd minute. His throws and set pieces were poor; it summed up their poor day in office. Whether or not they find themselves, they have to do it in the next game before they blow out the PREM title lead they have.
