All Blacks captain Ardie Savea visited the Springboks captain Siya Kolisi the weekend he arrived in South Africa. Savea and Kolisi had been close friends for years despite being rugby rivals. Whenever Siya is in New Zealand, he visits Savea’s family, and vice versa. This time around, the two captains have united rugby fans around something bigger than the game: their love for God.
Surely, rugby’s greatest rivalry has failed to separate the two gentlemen. They have shown that rugby unites people rather than divides them.

ALL BLACKS CAPTAIN ARDIE SAVEA SPENDS THE WEEKEND WITH SIYA KOLISI
Enjoying themselves and bonding, Siya and Ardie went to enjoy some gospel music, praising and worshipping God.
After that, they had time to talk and interact before going back to rest.
“Nothing better than being in the presence of the Lord with my brother in Christ🇿🇦🙏🏽🇳🇿”, Ardie said, sharing the pictures on Instagram.
“A powerful word today on staying Faithful in unexpected places. Acts 28:1-11” he finished reflecting on the day he had with Siya at Church.
Indeed, there is a lot of rugby coming in the next few weeks as the Springboks and the All Blacks lock horns.
With their first test coming on Saturday, 23 August, it’s unfortunate that Ardie and Siya will not be sharing the field due to Siya Kolisi’s injury.
THE CAPTAINS UNITED THE RUGBY FAMILY
After Ardie Savea shared his pictures with Siya Kolisi, fans of both the All Blacks and the Springboks came together. Some cherished their Christian faith, while others loved how much they were able to remain close despite their rugby rivalry.
@Armand Grobler “Incredible. While the SA and NZ fans rip each other’s heads off, the Captains are together in church. Let that be a lesson to us all.”
@Derek Brink “How special is this? Warriors on the field and brothers in God off.”
@Diego Talaya “Imagine doing a Bible study with @ardiesavea and @siyakolisi 🙆🏾♂️ May God bless you both for sharing your love for Him in the spaces you operate in🙏”
@Le Ché “Love this church so much ✨ it’s my favourite day of the week”
