Cheslin Kolbe’s wife, Layla, revealed the real reason why the Springboks have left Tokyo Sungoliath for the DHL Stormers.
Indeed, it’s been a great time for the Springboks speedster while in Tokyo. There, he won a lot and won fans’ hearts, becoming one of the club’s favourites.

On top of that, his family had also found a second home in the city, and his kids and wife had adjusted well to the culture there. Unfortunately, the time has come for him to return to South Africa, where he started his career.

Surely there are a lot of memories back home for Cheslin, but the real reason for his return is not about rugby.

LAYLA KOLBE REVEALS THE REASON CHESLIN KOLBE LEFT JAPAN

On Instagram, Layla revealed that being close to the family was the real reason Cheslin Kolbe had to return to South Africa from Japan.

Over the past few years, Layla had been travelling a lot with the kids, visiting Cheslin in Japan, as the kids were schooled in South Africa.

She, however, appreciated the stay they had in Japan and the time and love they received there.

“But in the end, time together matters more than anything. The everyday moments. School pickups, birthday parties, bedtime cuddles, milestones, the little things that become the big things. These are the years you never get back,” she said, revealing how important it is to be close to the family.

“So while leaving Japan is incredibly emotional for us, we know this decision was made from love and truly being obedient to God’s calling. Choosing family, choosing presence, choosing to be together for these precious years of our children’s lives,” she continued speaking about the importance of being together as a family.
