Anton Segner became one of the first debutants under Dave Rennie, and his girlfriend, Hunter Kawana, congratulated him. On his debut against Italy in their first Nations Cup clash on 11 July, Anton featured alongside fellow debutant Josh Morby. After becoming All Black number 1237, Segner became the first Germany-born player to represent the All Blacks. Sharing on her Instagram, Hunter expressed her love for the 24-year-old flanker.

The talented flanker was born on 24 July 2001 in Frankfurt, Germany, where he grew up. He became exceptionally good at rugby and pursued the game until 2017, when he visited New Zealand on a six-month stay.
During these months, Anton showed his top attributes as a rugby player and earned a scholarship at Nelson College. From then on, his life changed, and he developed into a top player, representing Tasman, the Blues, and Auckland, where he currently plays.
He also went on to represent New Zealand at Under-20 before making his recent debut as an All Black.
