The Springboks have shared one of their gym videos as they get ready for their first Nations Championship match against England on 4 July. Yet another top match against the archrivals in world rugby to be played out at Ellis Park. Over the years, the Springboks have had the best of England, but this time, England seemed a little different.

Young players like Henry Pollock and Fin Smith have since come into the team and transformed it. On the other hand, the Springboks looked to be a team with many ageing key players, like Siya Kolisi and Eben Etzebeth.

However, the Boks are not taking the new tournament for granted. They are busy hitting the gym, getting into their best shape with captain Siya Kolisi on the front.

RASSIE ERASMUS IS CONFIDENT

Speaking ahead of the game, Springboks coach Rassie Erasmus expressed his confidence in the team. He also spoke about England’s threats and what he expects from them.

“Yeah, there are a lot (of Saints’ players), and they also played last weekend. So they would probably have celebrated Saturday night, and I think they arrived here on Wednesday. That’s why we say it’s tough to align people quickly, but if they have a lot of Northampton players in – the 9 and 10 will be the same, there might be a wing that’s the same, and we think there’s a few of their guys going to be in.” Erasmus said about England,

“I guess it’s probably how quickly a team syncs and gets on the same page. It is the same with us, but to answer you, yes, they have got that winning feeling, and they’re on a high and that sometimes that helps.” Rassie said.

“It would have been great if the Bulls won and you get that confidence in, but then, on the other side, if you lose like the Bulls, there’s a hunger to rectify it, and that’s also a bit of a positive. I think their positive is Northampton’s success, and they have some very good players.”
