The All Blacks have since embraced Mzansi vibes and culture as they gathered for a special South African braai. It’s been a few wonderful days since the New Zealand rugby team arrived in Cape Town. Over 4,000 of their fans in Cape Town welcomed them, showing love and support as they returned to South Africa on tour for the first time in 30 years.
After landing, the team had been enjoying some of South Africa’s best lifestyles. Some of the players, including Walace Sititi, joined the locals in singing and dancing.
Some, however, enjoyed the natural beauty of South Africa, but it was when the team gathered for a braai that impressed most South Africans.
ALL BLACKS GATHER FOR A SOUTH AFRICAN BRAAI
With Ethan de Groot leading, the team had to do most of the work. Braai is a cultural tradition among South Africans, as they come together to grill meat over an open fire outdoors and enjoy themselves. On weekends, most South Africans braai at local shops, a culture widely practised nationwide.
Sharing the video on Instagram, the All Blacks explained the culture as South Africans do.
“When in South Africa 🙏🏼. A braai is a traditional South African barbecue where people gather to cook meat over an open fire 🔥,” they said.
