DHL Stormers give Christopher ‘Chippie’ Solomon’s family a guard of honour ahead of the clash with Connacht. It’s been a tough week for the Stormers and the Solomons family following Chippie’s death.

His death was a pain to many rugby fans worldwide, but mostly to his family. They not only lost a coach, teacher, and mentor, but also a father and a loving relative.

Indeed, Chippie deserved a heroic send-off, and the Stormers made sure to give him the respect he deserved. Ahead of his clash with Connacht, they formed a guard of honour, showing their love and consoling him.

“A moment bigger than the game. Respect, remembrance and rugby. A guard of honour for the DHL Stormers, honouring Chippie ❤️” Stormers said.

STORMERS GIVE SOLOMON’S FAMILY A GUARD OF HONOR

With Chippie’s four children holding hands, they walked down the pitch as players honoured them. Among them was Stromers player, Chad Solomon, who is Chippie’s son.

Surely, it was a moment that proved that rugby is more than a sport, but a family with love and affection. Before the guard of honour, Chad also showed his support for the team, so continue pushing in the United Rugby Championship.

He welcomed the team, hugging and cheering them, but it was the guard of honour that moved most fans to tears.

FANS GOT EMOTIONAL AHEAD OF THE CONNACHT GAME

As Christopher Solomon’s family walked down the pitch in the guard of honour, the crowd got emotional. Some fans outside the stadium watched on Instagram and also had words for Chippie.
