The Chiefs have revealed some details about Wallace Sititi’s head injury following scans at Waikato Hospital. The All Blacks lock suffered a head knock, which many feared was the worst. After rushing to the hospital, the 23-year-old lock received the good news that he has no damage.
“Hey Chiefs fam! Thanks for all your care and love for our guy Wally 🤍,” they said in an Instagram post.
“He wanted to let you all know he is at home and feeling good, as well as sending his thanks to everyone for their love and support. Scans at Waikato Hospital did not reveal any issues, and he will be assessed and cared for through the concussion protocols,” they continued, sharing the good news.
WHAT HAPPENED TO WALLACE SITITI
After a series of challenges, Sititi suffered a high tackle from Lukhan Salakaia-Loto. After the high tackle, he also clashed heads with teammate Sione Ahio, and that did not look good.
Even though the Chiefs finished with a 46-24 victory in Hamilton, sending them through to the next stage, Sititi’s situation ruined their day.
“The pride, the grit we showed and obviously the enjoyment of getting a result, it’s tinged,” Coach Gibbes told reporters after the game.
“It’s never nice to see one of our brothers in a situation like that, but Wally’s where he needs to be now, with people that can help him. There’s a big part of us that is actually thinking about him right now,” he continued, thinking about Sititi.
Indeed, the fears are now over; Sititi is home, resting, and the Chirfs family and fans wished him a quick recovery.
