Ardie Savea impressed fans with how he handled himself the first day after being named the new All Blacks captain. Ardie had been the makeshift captain for several games when Scott Barrett was injured or ill. Whenever he put on the armband, fans loved his vibe and, most importantly, the way he naturally connected with the team.

Of course, being a game captain is not the same as being the team captain he is now. The level of pressure and demands is now different, but Ardie is handling it so well. In the morning, arriving for work, he showed the real characteristics that made Dave Rennie name him captain.

ARDIE SAVEA IMPRESSED FANS ON HIS FIRST DAY AS ALL BLACKS CAPTAIN

Arriving for training early in the morning, feeling as fresh as the All Blacks leader, Ardie found some staff and players waiting for him. He greeted them humbly, and they showed him a lot of love and affection. Their bond looked so natural and flowing, and that impressed fans.

Indeed, Savea, as the All Blacks captain, showed the natural connection we usually see in the Springboks. To show for it, Siya Kolisi’s natural talent for uniting people has been a key asset for the Springboks, even when he is out injured. His support from the bench saw the Springboks go all the way to the final in 2023.
