Siya Kolisi shared an emotional Mother’s Day post showing an old picture of his late mother. With an almost perfect rugby career, the Springboks captain had been through a lot when it came to his life away from the game.
He lost his parents when he was still a very young boy, and does not even have any memory of his father. After losing his parents, his siblings, Liyema and Liphelo had to live in the children’s home before he took them.
Such is an emotional family journey, with a lot of downs, and when celebrating his mother, Siya could not hide the pain.

The picture Siya Kolisi shared shows his mother as a young woman, and it explains why he has few memories.
“It was a rough day today !” The Springboks captain shared how tough it was seeing others celebrating with their mothers.
“Limited memories but will always cherish them❤️”, he continued, revealing that he only has a few memories with his mother from back in the day.
After Siya shared the message on Instagram, some fans came showing him love and support to soldier on.
“She looks like your daughter 😍,” said a fan named Zozo_Stof, seeing the similarities between Siya’s mother and his daughter.
“Sending love ❤️ and a hug 🤗 sana lwam”, said Hannah Sadiki, showing Siya some love.
“The resemblance yabantwana bakho bhuti, cherish the time u had noMama❤️” said Cynthia Lumka Bokwana.
SIYA KOLISI’S FAMILY LIFE
Despite his parents and Siblings, Siya created one of the most famous families alongside Rachel Kolisi. Unfortunately, things went south, and the two lovebirds divorced, making headlines. However, they have since vowed to be good coparents and have been doing that for a few years now.
Next season, Siya will be playing for the Stormers, and he took a massive pay cut to be closer to his family. Surely, Siya is a family man and always makes many sacrifices to make them happy and prosper.
