‘You were selected to do the job’: 80-year-old fan send a heartfelt message to the All Blacks in Cape Town

All Blacks 80-year-old fan, Jerry, sent a heartfelt message to the New Zealand team ahead of their South Africa tour. The All Blacks arrived in Cape Town, and their fans gave them a hero’s welcome. Over 4,000 fans came to welcome them, showing them a lot of love, but Jerry did so, reminding them of the task at hand.

80-YEAR-OLD FAN JERRY’S WORDS TO THE ALL BLACKS

Speaking after meeting Rieko Ilone and other All Blacks stars, Jerry opened his heart with affection, motivating the team.

“I’m here to support the All Blacks, and it’s something very special to me, and we’re glad Rieko is also in the team, and we’ve got, I think, a good team,” he said. He continued wishing the All Blacks happiness. “I want them to be happy. If you are happy, then you can play. No grudges, no nothing, just come and do the job. You were selected to do the job, and I want you to do a very good job,” he said.

“I know they will do a very good job, thank you, I’m only 80 man, still a youngster”, he finished showing his support.

JERRY’S MESSAGE GOT FANS EMOTIONAL

The All Blacks official shared the 80-year-old Jerry’s message to the All Blacks, expressing how special it was.

“Special to meet Jerry and surprise him with a signed jersey & tickets to our first Test in Cape Town 🇳🇿🇿🇦”, they said, leaving other fans cherishing the moment.
