Anton Segner gave an emotional farewell to his All Blacks teammates as he took off from South Africa to New Zealand. Segner left on 3 September, leaving his teammates gearing up for their third clash against the Springboks. Indeed, it was not what the talented loose forward wanted, but the injury took its toll.
The talented 25-year-old star had minor surgery to wash out an infection in his ankle joint. The injury ruled him out of the Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry as he heads back home for recovery. Soon after the bad news, he appreciated the fans’ support, but it seemed his teammates were also sad to see him leave.
ANTON SEGNER GIVES FAREWELL TO HIS ALL BLACKS TEAMMATES
As the All Blacks head out for training, it was time for Segner to go to the airport. Each of his teammates came up to hug him and show him some love. Some of them wished him well and encouraged him to stay positive as he went through a difficult period.
