He made his debut for Stade Français and continued to grow as a player. He made his way into the starting team, becoming one of the most important players.
Showing his commitment to the club, he signed a long-term deal that will keep him at the club until 2029.
FRANCE NATIONAL TEAM
Coming through as one of the most talented youngsters in the country, Leo Barre made it into the France Under-20 national team. He played for the under-20 from 2021 to 2022.
He impressed the Under 20 so much so that the national team coaches could not ignore him. In 2024, he made his France national team debut, making a big name for himself. He went on to produce top performances in the 2025 Six Nations, becoming one of the most talked-about youngsters.

LEO BARRE’S HEIGHT, WEIGHT AND PLAYING STYLE
France fullback Léo Barré stands 1.89 m and is listed between 88–89 kg depending on the competition database—Stade Français gives him 1.89 m/89 kg, while EPCR lists 1.89 m/88 kg. His frame is rangy rather than bulky, built for covering ground in the backfield and accelerating into space.

Barré’s playing style is defined by high involvement. For Stade Français, he regularly turns kick-returns into attacking launches, looking to relaunch “every ball he can” and stretching defences with pace and a sharp step. Rugbyrama’s match notes highlight his activity, aerial competence, and willingness to counter from deep. A trademark is the instinct to back himself: L’Équipe described a standout score that began with a counter from his own 22, mixed with a deft chip and another burst to the line.
He also brings playmaking versatility. Developed as a fly-half and centre as well as fullback, he can step in as a second distributor, vary tempo, and use subtle kicking options (chips, little kicks over the line) to open space for midfield runners. At his best, he’s a modern French No.15: adventurous, quick to scan fractured lines, and comfortable turning defence into attack—sometimes at the risk of overplaying when territories are tight.
