After winning the Super Rugby, Jordie Barrett penned an emotional letter to the Hurricanes family on Instagram.
Since 2017, Barrett had been at the centre of the highly successful Hurricanes teams. With such a long time with the team, Jordie has experienced both the tough and good times in the Black and Gold jersey.
With each trophy comes new information, new feelings and emotions about being part of the Hurricanes family. So was the 2026 season, which had not been as easy for Barrett, but he finished it with all the support he needed, and it touched his heart.
JORDIE BARRETT’S LETTER TO THE HURRICANES FAMILY
Sharing on Instagram, the talented fullback expressed how much it was worth waiting to lift the trophy. After their impressive 60-5 win over the Chiefs, Barrett thanked the fans and management for the journey they shared.
“It was worth the wait! Super proud of all my @hurricanesrugby brothers and management for the year we’ve just had.” he started showing the Hurricanes family some love.
“Thanks to all who have supported us around the world and throughout NZ. Will savour this one 🌪️” he finished with love, thanking everyone involved in New Zealand rugby in any capacity.
THE HURRICANES FAMILY LOVED JORDIE’S LETTER
After he shared his post, several New Zealand players, including Ardie Savea and Cam Roigard, reacted. However, it was the fans who showed him so much love, congratulating him on his Super Rugby win.
