Born in a humble township of Ibhayi on 6 April 2005, Batho has taken the nation by surprise. The talented prop started school at Ndzondelelo High School, where he showcased his top skills, making a strong name for himself in the region. He later joined the ranks at Graeme College and immediately became one of their best players.
CAREER
After impressing at Graeme College, Batho attracted interest from many top teams before the Sharks won his signature. At Sharks, he had the chance to be closer to some of the world’s best players like Siya Kolisi and Eben Etzebeth.
After a few games impressing with the Sharks, he made his debut in the Currie Cup in 2004. He also represented them again in the 2024–25 EPCR Challenge Cup.
As of 2025, he has yet to make his Springboks debut but has already trained with the first team. Speaking about his progress and talent, Johan Ackermann could not praise him enough.
