Hurricanes star flanker Devan Flanders is engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Mariah Nelson, on 2 April 2025.
It was a special day, as Devan took another step forward in his life during a vacation in Wanaka, New Zealand. He showed that he is a totally different man in his social life than he is on the pitch.
Celebrating love with his girlfriend, Mariah Nelson, he popped some champagne, and the two lovebirds enjoyed. After she said ‘YES’, the two lovebirds hugged and kissed as they spent the rest of the day.
Sharing with fans pictures of their engagement, Devan expressed the joy of being in love with Mariah.
“The day of my dreams. My best friend, my soulmate, forever in love with you 🤍 02.04.2026 💍” he said.

DEVAN FLANDERS SET FOR JAPAN MOVE
Despite getting engaged, Devan Flanders is also making a move in his professional journey. At the end of the season, Flanders will leave the Hurricanes and go to play in Japan.
“The Hurricanes can confirm that Devan Flanders will depart the club following the 2026 Super Rugby Pacific season.” Hurricanes said, announcing his exit on Instagram.
“Devan remains fully available and committed to the Hurricanes throughout the rest of the season, where he will play a key role both on and off the field.” Hurricanes focused on Flanders’ commitment until the end of the season.
