CRAIG CASEY’S AGE AND EARLY LIFE
Born on 19 April 1999, the talented scrum-half Craig Casey turned 27 years in 2026. Born in Limerick, Ireland, Casey grew up a well-drilled athlete and excelled in several sports besides rugby.
Growing up in Limerick, Craig enrolled at Ardscoil Rís, where he started showing his love for the sport. He worked his way through the ranks until he captained the senior school team.

In 2017, he captained his school to the Munster Schools Rugby Senior Cup and reached the semi-finals. The following year, in 2018, he joined the Shannon Rugby Football Club, Munster’s feeder academy.

Instead, he went into coaching and worked at Shannon RFC. Currently, he is in rugby as a Munster Rugby Development Officer. Gerry had been a key part of Crag’s development growing up, giving him professional advice and ensuring he developed well as a player.
Craig Casey’s mother is Sinéad Casey, who is also in sports but not rugby. Sinéad Casey is a former Irish gymnast who passed on a strong, diligent approach to training. By combining his father and his mother, Craig had parents who knew the ins and outs of rugby and being an athlete in general.
His grandfather, Pat Lawler, was also a professional rugby player who played for Limerick until his untimely death. Pat unfortunately died on the pitch at the age of 40. The former Munster star Mossy Lawler is also Craig Casey’s uncle and played a big role in his development.
