Wallabies captain Harry Wilson can not wait to host the upcoming 2027 Rugby World Cup. Wilson has reviewed the team’s progress since 2020. They planned and worked for this Rugby World Cup, and now it’s almost time to play in front of the home fans after 24 years.
On 1 October 2027, Australia will play against World Cup debutants Hong Kong China at Perth Stadium. This time, Wilson wants to lift the trophy for the first time since their last win in 1999.
WHAT HARRY WILSON THINKS OF THE 2027 RUGBY WORLD CUP
Speaking to Hello Sport, Wilson could not hide his excitement and joy at hosting the 2027 Rugby World Cup.
“This 2027 World Cup has been something I’ve been dreaming about for a long time,” Harry said.
“I remember a lot of us signed in 2020 on long deals to the ’23 World Cup, with this World Cup in the back of our minds,” he continued.
“It’s getting close now, and it’s something I can’t wait to be a part of. I just can’t wait to see Australia get behind us, have everyone talking about rugby, and see how amazing our global game is. There’s going to be a lot of people surprised by how amazing it is. To have that home support is going to be special and we’ve just got to keep building over this next month to make sure we’re ready next year.”
“It’ll be like [the Lions Series] but times five. It’s unbelievable,” Wilson added.
“My family always go to the World Cups; they’re big supporters, and they’ve said how amazing the other ones have been,” he finished speaking about his family.
Indeed, the excitement is massive nationwide, with fans and players all waiting to see whether Harry Wilson would be able to lift the precious trophy.
